I turned 21. I had just graduated from college and was dating a girl that was not right for me. My folks took me out to a nice lunch on the marina and then for a nice italian dinner, my favorite. Following that, noted girl and I went for A drink at a Redondo bar. We drank Tuaca. It was awesome... I drove.

I turned 22. Definitely, hands down, best birthday party of my life. I had made a bunch of friends, most of with turned out to be fair weather type, but was thankful to keep one who I now call my best. At the time, folks called me Superman, so everyone bought me gifts relating to that. It was fun.

I turned 34. no really! It was a drag. I worked for the first time on my birthday. It was an awful day at work. I was buying a house at the time with my future fiance and had somehow accepted that 12 months warranted such a difference in lfestyle.

I turned 23. I had recently been laid off and forced to start over in career. My fiance worked and the friends that I had held on to came over to the house I owned (and shared with BofA) to help support and celebrate. It was fun.

I turned 24. I spent the afternoon at an Arizona hotel poolside with an unlikely friend who turned out to be just what I needed at the time, while waiting until sun down for my wife to call, not yet realizing I was watching the sun set on a thankfully short lived marraige. It was a an awakening day to say the least.

I turned 23 again. Definitely had a ton of fun. It was hands down the best in years! Better than the previous 3 combined! I spent the day(s) at Mandalay soaking up the sun and the booze and defying gravity and reality, while following positivity with a shot of 151. Good times!

Well... we'll see. So far, I expect something much more chill than last year but am hoping something that at least rivals those previous. My last 24th birthday was all right but I'm hoping this time around is better.

Wish me a happy 2nd 24th birthday, void!
